NJ Weaver is a Texas mixed media artist and printmaker. She spent 10+ years working in the architectural/interior design field in Houston before moving to New Mexico in the early 90’s. In Albuquerque, she worked with Habitat for Humanity and other local area non-profit organizations in project management & fundraising. A lifelong art observer, New Mexico’s landscapes, arts and native crafts further sparked her interest and studies in painting, photography, and fiber arts.
In 2004, she returned to Austin and began exploring new mediums & art interests. Her encaustic paintings (beeswax & damar resin) combine and create intuitive abstract art rich in color, texture and light using paint, encaustic, paper, miscellaneous objects and ephemera.
NJ Weaver is a member of the Women Printmakers of Austin, PrintAustin and Women Made Gallery. Her work has been exhibited in national juried shows and internationally.
