Artist Statement
My paintings are a result of seeking and exploring a different way of life that began over thirty years ago. Years spent in observation, the acknowledgement that I could express myself in a visual medium was a revelation within itself. My process is intuitive, involving multiple fused layers of color, form, texture and gestural marks.
My paintings are not literal. They are about exploring the unknown and eliciting emotions, discoveries and responses in a visualized way. I choose to use a variety of mediums – encaustic, mixed media and print are a few of the tools I use to search for discoveries and revelations of the unknown.
